Japan Rail Pass

One pass for (almost) all Japanese trains

  • The most advantageous way to travel through the Land of the Rising Sun
  • Super convenient: seat reservations included in the price
  • Only available outside Japan

INFORMATION WE NEED FOR YOUR BOOKING

  • Departure date from your country of residence. (start date you choose yourself in Japan)
  • All first names according to your passport. In Japan there is a strict control on this. (During booking you will be asked for first name as in passport. Please fill in all first names)

VALIDITY

  • Ordinary Pass (2nd class) and Green Pass (1st class), also for all Shinkansen trains
  • The Japan Rail Pass is valid only on consecutive days (for a period of 7, 14 or 21 days), starting on the day it is first used (stamped at manned ticket gate)
  • We send a voucher, not the pass itself. This must be exchanged for the actual pass in Japan
  • The voucher for the pass must be redeemed within 3 months, starting from the day the voucher is printed (so if printed on 27 March, redeem before 26 June)
  • At the time of redemption, you can indicate when you want to start using the pass. This does not have to be the day itself, but a date of your choice, as long as it is within one month after receiving the pass in Japan. This date cannot be changed later.
  • Japan Rail Pass is only available outside Japan
  • Note: Only foreign travellers visiting Japan as tourists with a "Temporary Visitor" stamp in their passport can use the Japan Rail Pass.
  • The Japan Rail Pass is not valid on the 'NOZOMI' and 'MIZUHO' shinkansen trains

ADVANTAGES

  • Free seat reservations in Japan on presentation of pass
  • Easy to use, seats in Japan can be reserved at the ticket office in no time at all
  • A return Tokyo-Osaka is cheaper with a rail pass
  • With the Green Pass you can travel in the Green Car Wagon of all Shinkansen trains and some other high speed trains. This is comparable to our first class.
