The city of Gaudi, soccer and tapas. The capital of Catalonia is always on the move, day and night. Around the city's artery, the Ramblas, there´s always life being celebrated. In the summer months, when it´s very hot during the day, life continues into the night.
The Gothic center of Barcelona has an authentic character because many old buildings have remained intact. Two highlights in the old center are the Cathedral de la Santa Creu and the Sagrada Familia, designed by the eccentric Spanish architect Antoni Gaudí. This famous Spaniard has built more buildings throughout the city.
For those looking for culture, Barcelona is the right place. There are many museums, including the Picasso Museum and the Casa Museu Gaudi.
If you´re looking for entertainment on the beach, you can visit the approximately 5 kilometers long beach of the city.
Barcelona is of course also known for its soccer. The huge stadium of FC Barcelona, Camp Nou, can be visited during the week with a guide or during a match of the club of Messi and consorts. Please note that tickets must be ordered well in advance due to their popularity.
