Train and Bike France
TAKE YOUR BIKE ON THE TRAIN, FRANCEBicycles can be taken on a large number of long-distance trains (including TGV)
Night train connections with sleeping facilities
On all regional trains you can take your bike free of charge

Taking your bike packed
Within France and on board the Eurostar you can take your bicycle on all trains if you pack it in a cover or bag with maximum dimensions of 135x85x30 cm (front/rear wheel removed). The bicycle can then be carried free of charge as luggage on all trains.
Taking your bike unpacked
In addition, you can take your bicycle unpacked and rideable on a limited number of TGV trains, on almost all night trains, and on regional trains.
The international journey planner is not fully accurate regarding bicycle connections. Use the website of the French Railways: if a bicycle symbol is shown for a train, you can take your bike on board without disassembly. For all high-speed trains, TGVs, and night trains it is mandatory to reserve a bicycle space. These reservations can be made via HappyRail (in combination with a passenger booking).
In French trains, seats near the bicycle spaces are reserved for cyclists. Bicycle spaces and these seats can only be booked together, meaning bicycle spaces in day trains are only available with a 2nd class ticket (not 1st class) and in night trains with Liege-6 accommodation (not Liege-4).
Regional trains
Taking bicycles on regional trains is free of charge.
Cost of bicycle reservation
For trains where a reservation is required you pay a fixed amount of €10 per bicycle per train, regardless of the distance.

Train and Bike France
For the time being, we no longer offer Train & Bike.
We are working on making Train & Bike bookable in our international train planner. This is expected to be completed within a few months.
