General
Within Germany you can take bicycles on many long-distance connections (almost all IC/EC trains), a reservation is mandatory. On many ICE trains you can now also take bicycles, including all ICE trains Netherlands – Germany.
On all regional trains you can take your bike without a reservation. Many regional trains have a special level-entry for bicycles. In some regions, taking bicycles is free of charge.
Bicycle tickets
Bicycle tickets Germany start from €9 per bike per single journey. Prices for bicycle tickets increase depending on availability. On long-distance trains it is mandatory to reserve a bicycle space. For €5.20 you can reserve a bicycle space, connecting trains at no extra cost. You will also get a reserved seat near your bicycle.
