ICE high-speed trains
The ICE (InterCity Express) is the flagship high-speed train of Deutsche Bahn. It runs at speeds of up to 300 km/h, with frequent connections between all major cities, to tourist regions and internationally to the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Switzerland and Austria.
All ICE tickets and reservations can be booked via our train planner, including seat selection on a seating map.
2nd class: adjustable seats in a 2+2 layout, some with tables, others in airline-style seating. Free Wi-Fi, power sockets and luggage racks in all coaches. Each train has at least one quiet zone and a family area.
1st class: adjustable leather seats in a 2+1 layout, some with tables, others in airline-style seating. More legroom and wider seats than in 2nd class. Free Wi-Fi, power sockets and luggage racks available. Staff take orders at your seat for drinks and meals from the restaurant car.
Restaurant car: table service as well as take-away for drinks and meals. No reservation required – open to all passengers with a valid ticket.
