Advantages of BritRail
- Often (much) cheaper than point-to-point train tickets
- BritRail passes are only available outside Great Britain.
- Valid on all train companies (almost 40!)
- Discounts on various attractions/sights with BritRail 2FOR1
BritRail
Unlimited train travel throughout England, Wales and Scotland. Regardless of the train company (there are more than 40), valid on all trains. On peak-hour trains to/from London, seat reservations are recommended.
Night trains
When travelling after 19:00 on the night trains London – Cornwall and London – Scotland, only the arrival day is counted.
Advantage
Given the high rail fares in Great Britain, BritRail is also cheaper for short journeys than tickets purchased locally (only Supersaver tickets bought well in advance via a train company’s website can sometimes be cheaper).
Hiking and cycling
Also ideal for hikers and cyclists: outbound to one station, return from another. Without having to commit to a specific date or time.
Take your bike on the train
Bikes: free of charge on many trains.
