Day 1
Travel by Eurostar and ICE train from London to Munich. Overnight stay near the railway station.
Day 2
Travel on the new direct daytime train from Munich to Zagreb, introduced in 2026. Cross the Alps via the Tauern Railway and enjoy a beautiful route through Slovenia. Stay at, for example, Hotel Central***, close to the railway station and within walking distance of the Old Town. Zagreb is a stately, monumental capital with an 18th-century atmosphere.
Day 3
In the afternoon, travel along the newly renovated railway line through the karst mountains to Gospić. Transfer to Plitvice, where you will stay in a hotel near the park entrance. The world-famous national park is a true highlight: 16 emerald-green lakes connected by spectacular waterfalls of exceptional beauty.
Day 4
Visit Plitvice National Park. Explore the walking trails, boat crossings and park train. In the afternoon, transfer back to Gospić and continue by train to Split, descending towards the Adriatic Sea. Overnight stay in a hotel near the Old Town.
Day 5
In the morning, take the ferry from Split to Vela Luka on the island of Korčula, sailing between the islands. Continue by coach to Korčula Town. In the late afternoon, travel by hydrofoil to Dubrovnik. Overnight stay in an apartment with a balcony offering beautiful views of the coast. Café 350 metres away, supermarket 300 metres away and beach 300 metres away via steps.
The Old Town can be reached on foot in approximately 25 minutes.
Day 6
Explore Dubrovnik and its beautiful historic Old Town. Be sure to walk the famous city walls.
Day 7
At 3.30 pm, travel by hydrofoil to Split, calling at islands including Mljet, Hvar and Brač. Overnight stay in Split.
Day 8
In the morning, travel by train through the karst mountains to Oštarije, followed by a scenic descent to the Adriatic coast and Rijeka. In the early evening, continue by train to Ljubljana. Overnight stay in Ljubljana.
Day 9
Morning train to Villach, then return to Great Britain by ICE and Eurostar via Munich.
12-day tour
Compared with the 9-day tour:
- 1 extra night in Zagreb (for more time to explore the capital)
- 1 extra night in Split (relax on the beach or visit Diocletian's Palace)
- 1 extra night in Ljubljana (visit the Postojna Caves, one of Europe's largest cave systems), including a return Second Class rail ticket to the Postojna Caves
15-day tour
Compared with the 9-day tour:
- 1 extra night in Zagreb (for more time to explore the capital)
- 1 extra night in Split (relax on the beach or visit Diocletian's Palace)
- 1 extra night in Dubrovnik (more time to discover this UNESCO World Heritage city or enjoy the beach and the Adriatic Sea)
- 1 extra night in Rijeka (for example, take an excursion to Krk or visit Opatija, a popular seaside resort with many 19th-century villas and hotels)
- 2 extra nights in Ljubljana (visit the Postojna Caves and discover the Slovenian capital), including a return Second Class rail ticket to the Postojna Caves
