Villach and motorail
Villach has been a favourite destination for autotrain travellers for many years. In the past, DB Autozug ran to Villach from several German destinations, but since DB Autozug was discontinued, the offer has been mixed. The Austrian railways, ÖBB, have built up an excellent network for car trains in recent years. Villach plays an important role in this network. For example, there is a daily night train with car transport from Feldkirch on the Austrian-Swiss border to Villach.

Villach is an excellent destination for car trains due to its location on the Austrian-Slovenian border. From Villach, you can quickly drive to the Croatian coast. Slovenia is also close, of course, but Venice, for example, is within a few hours' drive.
