Antwerp is one of the most popular city trips to be done by train. Antwerp has something to offer for everyone. If you want to go shopping, you can go to the famous and versatile Meir and Keyserlei. These shopping promenades are located near the train station on the walking route to the old center.
If you´re looking for culture, Antwerp is the place to be. The centuries-old city has a rich history and a beautiful old center. In the completely renewed Maritime Museum, the Museum aan de Schelde (MAS), the history of the Belgian port city is well illustrated. Other museums are also worth a visit, for example, the Rubens House, a museum full of paintings by the famous Flemish painter. The museum is located in the old house of the painter himself. Also the Diamond Museum, which gives an insight into the city's famous diamond trade, is highly recommended.

For centuries the heart of the city. The wealth that the city acquired in the 16th century as one of the most important trading cities in the world is expressed in the beautiful guild houses and the town hall. Around the Grand Place are many stores and eateries.

Characteristic building from the 13th century on the Scheldt that once served as a prison.
Cathedral of Antwerp
This gothic cathedral was built in the 14th century. The cathedral is on the UNESCO World Heritage List, so definitely worth a visit.
Public transportation
Public transport in Antwerp is excellent. All corners of the city are easily accessible by streetcar or bus. But, the city center is compact and best to be explored by foot.
