More
Brussels feels near, but yet far away - you're out and about. Brussels has a beautiful historic center with a jumble of small streets full of boutiques, but also modern neighborhoods where business flats dominate the streetscape. Brussels has something to offer for everyone. Whether you´re looking for culture or you´re just here for the food, you prefer shopping or going a night out: the capital of Belgium and Europe is the place to be.
Grand Place
The center of Brussels since the 11th century. Beautiful square with guild houses and terraces. Around the square are many small streets with boutiques, cafes and restaurants. The Grand Place is on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Atomium
Built for the Brussels World Fair in 1958 (Expo '58). The nine-sphere aluminum structure was intended to be a temporary structure, but due to its popularity, it has always remained in place. It has now become a recognizable symbol of Brussels.
Manneken Pis
This is the world-famous little boy who has been peeing happily in a fountain in Brussels for years.
St. Michiels Cathedral
The most famous cathedral in Brussels, which has been in use since the 13th century.
Public transport
Public transport in Brussels is excellent. All corners of the city, including the city center, are easily accessible by bus, streetcar or metro. But, as the city center is fairly compact it´s best to be explored on foot with Brussels Central Station as a staring point.
