There are frequent daily International train connections to the capital of Bulgaria, Sofia. From Bucharest in Romania there is one daily direct connection to Sofia (daytime train). From Belgrade in Serbia there are two daily direct connections to Sofia; one by daylight and one during night time. From Istanbul there is a night train connection from Istanbul Sirkeci to Bulgaria. If you are travelling from Istanbul to Sofia you have to change trains in Dimitrovgrad(BG) and Plovdiv. From Thessaloniki there is a daily direct connection to Sofia.

The rail pass is available in both first and second class. The rail pass is valid in Bulgaria, Greece, Macedonia, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, Turkey, Bosnia and Herzegovina. You will receive the rail pass as a paper ticket.
Train fares for groups are generally more affordable than individual tickets. To major destinations of NS International, Deutsche Bahn and SNCF you can book up to 9 persons. For other destinations groupfares start from 6 adults.
