It is possible to travel on nearly every train. However you sometimes need to make a reservation beforehand. This can be on night trains such as the Caledonian Sleeper and the Night Riviera. Excluded are private railways such as the Royal Scotsman and other private railways. It is not possible to buy a Britrail Pass with a UK nationality. You will receive the Rail Pass as an paper ticket. It is not possible yet to issue the Rail Pass as an e-ticket.
