This is followed by a scenic drive through the Scottish Highlands. Boat of Garten is the end point for this day. After the informal dinner there´s entertainment in the bar carriage. Overnight stay in the train.
Day 2: Boat of Garten - Dundee
Today you´ll visit Rothiemurchus Estate, a historic estate, where you´ll be guided by a nature guide. There´s also opportunity for clay pigeon shooting or fishing. Return to the train in Aviemore. In Carrbridge, leave the train for a visit to Culloden Battlefield, the place where the last great battle on British soil took place on April 16, 1746.
Listen to the Highlander, who´ll give you a clear picture of how this battle changed life in the Highlands forever. Enjoy a visit to Strathisla Distillery, one of the oldest working distilleries and home to one of Scotland's most famous malts, Chivas Regal.
