Day 1

Today you´ll board 'the Pride of Africa' which will depart from Cape Town station around 11.00 am. The spacious air-conditioned compartments, the atmospheric restaurant carriage, the lounges and the cozy bar guarantee an unforgettable journey through the diverse African landscape. The journey goes through the beautiful wine region around Paarl and the beautiful Hex River Valley. In the afternoon you´ll visit the historic village of Matjiesfontein, where time seems to have stood still for a very long time. Dinner is served in the restaurant coaches. Overnight stay on board the train.

Day 2

Enjoy a wonderfully relaxing morning aboard the train as it travels through the great Karoo Desert. After lunch, arrive in Kimberley for a visit to the Big Hole and the diamond mining museum. The diamond rush in Kimberley reached its peak in the late 19th century. You can tour the historic buildings and take a look inside the Big Hole. Almost 15 million carat diamonds were mined from this hole. When the train leaves Kimberley, there´ll be tea in the lounge and observation cars. Dinner is served in the restaurant carriages. Overnight stay aboard the train.

Day 3

The train travels through Krugersdorp and past the gold mines of Witwatersrand to Pretoria. Around 12:00, the train arrives in Pretoria at the beautiful Rovos Rail Station which has the look and feel of the colonial 1930s.

Return journey

After arriving in Pretoria, you´ll be transferred to the airport in the evening to fly back home or to travel on to your next destination.
