Day 1

At 10:00 am, the "Pride of Africa" departs from Rovos Rail's own station at Capital Park in Pretoria. The spacious air-conditioned compartments, the atmospheric restaurant carriage, the lounges and the cozy bar guarantee an unforgettable journey through the varied African landscape. While you enjoy the landscape gliding by, lunch is served in one of the dining cars. You´ll travel through Warmbaths and Nile River and pass the Tropic of Capricorn. Dinner is served while the train continues to Musina where customs formalities for Zimbabwe are handled. Overnight stay on the train.

Day 2

A wonderfully relaxing day aboard the train as you pass through Zimbabwe via West Nicholson and Bulawayo, the country's second and industrial capital, to Mpopoma. Breakfast, lunch and dinner on board. Overnight on the train that stops in Mpopoma.

Day 3
The journey continues on one of the world's longest straight stretches of railroad between Gwaai and Dete. This railroad line is adjacent to the Hwange national park. After lunch you arrive in Kennedy where you will make a safari through Hwange national park. You may come face to face with the 'Big Five'! After returning to the train, you can enjoy dinner while the train continues to Thompsons Junction.

Day 4

Return journey

Breakfast is served in the dining cars as the train heads towards Victoria Falls. Arrival around 10:00 am in Victoria Falls at the small station opposite the famous Victoria Falls Hotel.

After an overnight stay in Victoria Falls, you may fly back to Johannesburg or continue on to your next destination.
