Day 1
By ICE train to Hamburg . Free afternoon in Hamburg; for example, visit the world's largest model railway at Miniatur Wunderland. Overnight stay in a 3-star hotel near the Hauptbahnhof, e.g., Intercityhotel.
Day 2
From Hamburg to Hirtshals by train through Jutland. The Fjord Line ferry departs at 19:15 (through May 12 and from August 31, 2026) or 20:00 (May 13 through August 30, 2026).
Day 3
Via Stavanger and the Norwegian fjords, you sail to Bergen, where you arrive at 1:00 PM. The leg between Stavanger and Bergen is particularly beautiful, passing many islands and offering views of the mountains of the mainland. Following this, take the speedboat to Lavik in the Sognefjord. This speedboat features comfortable seats inside with a panoramic window and an outdoor deck to enjoy the sunshine. In Lavik, you will stay for 2 nights at the beautifully situated Fjord Hotel.
Day 4
Free day in Lavik. Time for a beautiful walk or, optionally, a bike ride along the Sognefjord to the Massnes Natural History Museum.
Day 5
Continue by speedboat through the Sognefjord to Balestrand . Optional Fjærland excursion by boat and bus with a visit to the Bøyabreen glacier and glacier museum. Overnight stay in Balestrand at the Kviknes Hotel: particularly beautiful views, including from the restaurant.
Day 6
Speedboat through the Aurlandsfjord to Flåm and take the Flåmsbanen to Vatnahalsen . Overnight stay at the Høyfjellshotell***. This characteristic mountain hotel is located right next to the Flåmsbanen, but also in the heart of Norwegian nature.
Day 7
You travel to Oslo via the most beautiful section of the Bergensbanen. You won't have enough eyes to enjoy the beautiful landscapes on either side of the train. The railway line crosses the Hardangervidda, where it stops at Norway's highest train station: Finse at 1,224 m. Snow can be seen all year round. Overnight stay in Oslo near the central station, e.g., Thon Hotel Terminus.
Day 8
Travel by train to Gothenburg in the course of the morning and board the Stena ferry in the late afternoon. The ferry departs from the port of Gothenburg at 17:45 or 18:45. The ship sails down the Göta River towards the Kattegat, which is certainly worth viewing from the deck. Overnight stay on board in a private cabin.
Day 9
Arrival in Kiel in the morning around 09:15. Returning home by train via Hanover.
