Scotland is a magical country with mountains and crystal blue rivers, lakes and misty castles. The land of the Scottish diamond, the salmon and a warm welcome. Taste the atmosphere of this beautiful country aboard the Belmond Royal Scotsman.

This is travelling as it should be; luxurious, relaxed and full of new adventures. The Belmond Royal Scotsman has been in service since 1985 and consists of nine historic carriages from the 1930s. The train includes luxury sleeping cars with spacious one and two-person private compartments, two atmospheric dining cars and a bar carriage with an open observation car at the end. The interior is decorated with precious woods, cut glass and fine damask.
To make the trip as pleasant as possible and to make sure you don't miss anything of the picturesque surroundings, the train doesn't run at night. You spend the night in your comfortable compartment while the train stops at small, often picturesque stations.

During the journey the train stops regularly for a visit to a nature reserve, churches, gardens, castles and country houses, where guests are often welcomed and guided privately by the resident/owner. You´ll also visit a distillery, where a famous whisky is produced. For these excursions use is made of the own, comfortable coach that follows the train on its journey through Scotland.

The Belmond Royal Scotsman can be booked individually or as a whole for an exclusive company or for a group or incentive trip.
A train journey you´ll never forget.

The Belmond Royal Scotsman runs since 1985 and is composed of nine historic carriages from the 30s. The train has eighteen comfortably furnished double compartments (fifteen suites with two single beds, three suites with a double bed) and four single compartments.

The wide window is equipped with curtains and net curtains. Each bed has a down and a foam cushion, a down comforter and a cotton Scotch plaid. There are (extra) blankets available. The train stops at night so you are assured of a good night's sleep. The smell of fresh bread will wake you up.
