Tips and tricks to book cheap train tickets France

  • Book as early as possible, tickets are available three months in advance (tickets for the summer can be booked from February) Train tickets can be three times as cheap if they are booked in advance

  • If possible, avoid trains during rush hour and TGV's used by Parisians for "weekend breaks" to travel to the country side

  • If tickets are sold out or very expensive, you could try to buy tickets to a destination nearby and from there to your final destination

  • Sometimes regionals trains are much cheaper than TGV-trains, but often the travel time is much longer

Amsterdam Centraal - Info

Amsterdam Centraal is the name of the main station in Amsterdam and is located in the centre. You can walk from the station to the canals, Dam Square and to other major attractions.

If you want to go to the Rijksmuseum or the Van Gogh museum which are located at the other side of the centre you can walk for of about 30 minutes, take a tram or the newly opened underground. You can also easily rent a bike.

Railway Station Brussels 

The Thalys and the Intercity arrive and depart from Brussels Midi/Zuid, the main station in Brussels. From here also the Eurostar to London departs and the ICE and Thalys to Cologne and Frankfurt. You can also take from here domestic trains to Bruges, Ghent and Ypres. 

Other major stations in Brussels are Brussels Centraal and Brussels Schuman. Brussels Centraal is the best station to get off if you want to visit the old city centre. You can walk to the main square and fine restaurants. Brussels Schuman is the railway station for the European Parliament.
