Day 1: Vancouver - Kamloops
In the morning, board the Rocky Mountaineer at Vancouver train station. During the train journey you´ll experience the drastic changes in the landscape. From the green fields of the Fraser River valley, the wide rivers surrounded by forests, the large rocks of the "Coast and Cascade" mountains, to the desert-like environment of the interior of British Columbia.
Today's highlights are the rivers of Hell's Gate in the Fraser Canyon and the steep cliffs along the Thompson River. You´ll arrive at the beginning of the evening in Kamloops. Here you´ll spend the night in a comfortable hotel.
Day 2: Kamloops - Lake Louise of Banff
You´ll continue the early morning journey further east through the Canadian Rockies and the province of Alberta. The train travels through spectacular scenery, through farmland, along winding rivers, over high mountain passes and through tunnels that are part of the rich railroad history of the Canadian Rockies.
The highlights on the second day are the climb over Rogers Pass, the Kicking Horse Canyon, the Spiral tunnels and of course the glaciers and snow-capped peaks of the Canadian Rockies. Your train ride ends in the evening at Lake Louise or Banff.
