A short but sweet package tour to Switzerland with the country's most spectacular trains. Enjoy a few days in the pitturesque Grisons area from the charming village of Bergün, taking the Bernina Express along the UNESCO-listed Bernina railway to Italy.

After that you're in for one of Europe's most special train rides: the Glacier Express takes you over snowy mountain passes and countless villages to Zermatt, where tourists have been coming to see the Matterhorn mountains for over a century. The Gornergrat railway is the literal and figurative high-point of your journey.

Itinerary

Day 1 - to Switzerland
High-speed and express trains take you from your preferred station or airport in Europe via Zürch to the mountain village of Bergün. Accomodations in the beautifully restored Kurhaus spa hotel.

Day 2 - Bernina Express day trip
The famous Bernina Express takes you over the Bernina Pass to Italy. Enjoy the spectacular UNESCO-listed scenery through full-length panoramic windows. Enjoy an Italian lunch before departing back to Bergün.

Day 3 - Glacier Express to Zermatt
The Glacier Express, the world’s slowest express train, takes you through the Rhine Gorge and over the Oberalp Pass to Zermatt. A delicious three-course lunch (included) and drinks are served at your seat. In the ski resort of Zermatt you stay in a traditional family-owned hotel.

Day 4 - Zermatt & Gornergrat
Day trip by Gornergrat Railway. The views along the way to and from Gornergrat are incomparable, even by Swiss standards. Admire the view of 29 mountain peaks over 4000 meters high, including the famous Matterhorn. 

Day 5 - return trip
Time for one last scenic train ride, from Zermatt over the Lotschberg Pass to Zurich. From there, high-speed trains take you back to the European city or airport of your choice.
