Day 1

Travel by Eurostar to Paris, continue by TGV Lyria to Switzerland and on via Chur to Bergün. Stay at Hotel Garni Ladina***, just 150 metres from Bergün station. At an altitude of 1,350 metres, Bergün is an authentic Graubünden mountain village and an excellent base for walking and exploring the region.

Day 2

Free day in Bergün. Visit the Railway Museum or follow the Rhaetian Railway Experience Trail. A popular option is to take the train to Preda and walk back to Bergün (7 km, approximately 1½ hours) through the Albula Valley.

Day 3

Travel on the Bernina Express to Tirano. The journey passes spiral tunnels, impressive bridges and spectacular viaducts on the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Albula and Bernina Railway. At Alp Grüm, accessible only by train, there is a stop to enjoy the mountain scenery before descending over the 2,328-metre Bernina Pass towards Tirano in Italy. Highlights include glaciers, alpine lakes and the famous Brusio Spiral Viaduct.

Enjoy time in Tirano for lunch before returning to Bergün by regional train along the same scenic route.

Please note: on some departure dates, an additional change of trains in St. Moritz is required before boarding the Bernina Express.

Day 4

Free day in Bergün. Your included regional rail pass allows unlimited travel on the Rhaetian Railway network, making it easy to visit places such as Davos, Chur or St. Moritz. In summer, the historic Filisur–Davos train with open coaches is highly recommended. From Filisur, several walking trails lead to viewpoints overlooking the spectacular Landwasser Viaduct.

Day 5

Travel via Chur to Basel, continue by TGV Lyria to Paris and by Eurostar to London or your preferred railway station in Great Britain.
