Day 1

Travel by Eurostar from London St Pancras to Paris. Cross the city to Gare de Lyon and continue by TGV Lyria to Zürich. From there, travel by InterCity train to Chur before boarding the scenic Rhaetian Railway to Bergün.

Day 2

Travel on the spectacular Bernina Express, one of the world's most scenic railway journeys. Climb through glaciers and Alpine landscapes to the Bernina Pass at 2,253 metres before descending to just 429 metres above sea level in Tirano, Italy. Along the way, pass spiral tunnels, impressive viaducts and the famous circular viaduct at Brusio. Continue to Colico on beautiful Lake Como for an overnight stay in a three-star hotel, such as Hotel Villa Colico.

Day 3

Enjoy a scenic cruise on Lake Como, passing elegant lakeside villages on your way to Como. Continue by train via Milan to the spectacular Cinque Terre, where five colourful villages cling to the dramatic Ligurian coastline. Stay in Riomaggiore or Corniglia, for example at Hotel Villa Argentina.

Day 4

Spend the day exploring the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Cinque Terre. Visit the picturesque villages, enjoy scenic coastal walks or take a boat trip along one of Italy's most beautiful coastlines.

Day 5

Travel via Monterosso or Levanto and Milan to Lugano in Switzerland. Stay in a centrally located three-star hotel close to the railway station and within easy walking distance of Lake Lugano, such as Hotel Federale.

Day 6

Travel on the Gotthard Panorama Express through the Swiss Alps to Arth-Goldau, then continue to Zürich. From Zürich, board a direct TGV Lyria to Paris Gare de Lyon. After crossing Paris to Gare du Nord, continue by Eurostar to London St Pancras.
