Day by day

Day 1

Travel by Eurostar to Paris, then continue by TGV Lyria to Basel and on to Lucerne, the city with one of Switzerland's finest panoramas. Stay in a 3-star hotel close to the station.

Day 2

Travel to the Rhine Falls near Schaffhausen, the largest waterfall in Europe. Continue along Lake Constance to St. Gallen, then return to Lucerne on the Voralpen Express.

Day 3

Travel on the Luzern–Interlaken Express over the Brünig Pass to Interlaken in the Bernese Oberland, then continue by direct GoldenPass Express to Montreux. Stay overnight at Belle Époque Hotel Masson***, with views over Lake Geneva and a beautiful garden among mature trees.

Day 4

Travel along Lake Geneva and through the Rhône Valley to Zermatt. In the afternoon, there is the option to visit the Gornergrat for magnificent views of the Matterhorn. This excursion can be added during the booking process. Stay overnight at Hotel Alpenblick***.

Day 5

Travel on the Glacier Express, the slowest express train in the world, crossing the 2,033-metre Oberalp Pass, 291 bridges and 91 tunnels on the way to St. Moritz in the Engadin Valley. Stay in a 3-star hotel in St. Moritz.

Day 6

The Bernina Express is one of Switzerland's finest panoramic railways. Travel over the 2,253-metre Bernina Pass, past Lago Bianco and across the Brusio Spiral Viaduct to Tirano in Italy. Continue by Bernina Bus to Lugano. Stay, for example, at Hotel Federale***.

Day 7

Travel on the Gotthard Panorama Express over the Gotthard railway line to Flüelen, then by boat across Lake Lucerne to Vitznau. Continue by the Rigi Railway to Rigi Kaltbad. Stay overnight at Hotel Alpina***, directly next to the station.
From late April to late May, you will stay at Hotel Rigi*** in Vitznau, next to the Rigi Railway station.

Day 8

Travel by cog railway back to Vitznau, then by boat to Lucerne. Continue via Basel, Paris and Eurostar to London or your preferred railway station in Great Britain.
